Information:
We will be departing the High school Friday, December 1st at 8:00am for Vail. This will be an overnight trip so please make sure to provide your son/daughter with enough money for: one breakfast, two lunches and 1-2 dinner. Also, you may want to provide them with some money for a possible team activity like bowling (Please let us know if you need any assistance for food or fun so we can help). The weather will be range from the high 20’s to the low 50’s throughout the day in Vail this weekend so please make sure your student athlete is prepared with appropriate clothing.
-The team will arrive in Vail around 1:00 and unload our things at the Riverwalk inn (hotel listed above). Both teams will head over to Vail Christian school at 1:45 for shoot around in the gym. Each team will have a locker room to change in at Vail Christian.
At 2:30 the Girls’ team will begin warming up for their game.
The girls will play Battle Mountain at 3:00pm.
While the girls are playing, the boys’ team will be watching (and supporting) them in the gym with coach Charles. The boys must change before halftime of the girls game so they can shoot around during the half.
-Immediately following the girls game, the boys will begin warming up for their game Vs. Vail Mountain at 4:30. The girls will be in the stands with Coach Murray during the boys game watching (and supporting).
-Following the completion of the boys’ game, teams may choose to stay and watch the competition and then both teams will return to the hotel. Teams will be given 30 minutes to get ready for dinner.
There are many places to eat right around our hotel and teams will be given 1 hour and 15 minutes to go in small groups to eat where they wish (within the three blocks near the hotel).
-Both teams will meet up after dinner and, depending on the time, may go bowling or do another team activity.
-10pm = lights out for both teams
-Wake up will depend on the time of the first game on Saturday (which is depending on Friday’s results). Teams will eat breakfast and go over to the gym together to prepare for Saturday’s games.
-After the games if you would like to sign your student athlete out please see Coach Murray or Coach Charles. We will leave the gym and head back to Telluride immediately following the completion of the final Telluride game.
Should be some great non-league competition this weekend and a great way to kick off the season. Feel free to email with any questions!
