CoEd Varsity Track
CHSAA held an emergency meeting this morning and has decided to suspend all spring sports (practices and competition) until April 6th. Today will be our last track practice until after the ban has lifted. We are allowed to have our team lunch tomorrow, but will not be able practice beforehand. Therefore, we will plan on meeting in the cafeteria at 12:15 tomorrow to eat together. Please respond to this email, so that I make sure each parent has received this information. Also, please let me know if I should expect your child tomorrow for lunch. Thank you!
I just received an email from the track coach at Montrose High School. Per a directive by their athletic director, they are canceling all spring sports events until April 11, 2020. This means that they will NOT be hosting a track meet this Saturday. We will have practice today from 3:30-5:30 and tomorrow from 12:15-1:30 pm followed by our team potluck.

Track Athletes and Parents,
It was an amazing first week of practice, as we got into new routines, worked hard and hopefully had fun too. There are a few announcements about his week below.
Practice will run 3:30-5:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday we will run practice earlier due to the half-day of school. Practice will begin at 12:15 and run until 1:30 pm. This is a mandatory practice for all athletes who will be going to the meet on Saturday. If your child misses this practice for some reason, they will not be allowed to participate in the Montrose meet on March 14th. The Montrose meet will be held at Montrose High School, beginning at 10:00 am.
At 1:30 pm on Friday afternoon we will share an athlete/coach’s potluck meal together. In order to facilitate the types of items that students will bring to share, I am asking that 12th graders bring a dessert, 11th graders a salad, 10th graders a main dish (pastas and other carbs are great for a meal the night before a race), and 9th graders a salad or soup. Please let me know if your child will not be attending this meal, so that we can have an accurate count. Please note, that we do have several athletes that are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, if you can provide something that they can enjoy as well.
Saturday is our first meet in Montrose. The bus will depart the school at 7:30 am. Please be at the school early for drop-off as we cannot hold the bus if athletes are late. We will stop at City Market in Montrose for a bathroom break and to get some quick snacks. Athletes will need to come prepared with plenty of water, sunscreen, snacks/lunch, their uniform (on when they load the bus) and layers for both warm and cold temperatures. The meet is supposed to finish around 2:30 pm, so expect us to be in Telluride around 4:00 pm. Athletes will call to let you know when we are leaving Montrose, so that you can be there to pick them up on time.
If you need your child to be picked up or dropped off in Placerville, please let me know in advance, 970-209-4636. Also, please remember that if your child is going home from the meet with another adult, I need to be notified by BOTH parents, no later than Friday morning.
If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please contact me via my cell number above, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
